The Violin Maker – Solo Exhibit 2021
In the first of its kind in Palestine, this exhibition delves into the art of violinmaking through the works of Shehada Shalalda. The audience is invited to witness the violin’s formation as the deconstructed instrument slowly takes its shape through a unique installation of tools and materials, culminating in a series of unique handcrafted instruments.
The violin takes dimension far beyond slabs of maple and spruce, instead revealing a delicate process handled with precision by its luthier. At the intersection of craftsmanship, art, and music, the luthier Shehada Shalalda presents a rare opportunity to view the violin like never before.
